BLADENBORO – Bladenboro broke a scoreless tie with 2 goals in the final 7 minutes and defeated Clarkton School of Discovery 2-0 Monday in the Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls’ soccer season opener for both teams.
Ashley Rivon banged in the 1st Lady Bulldog goal off of an assist from Hadley Dove with 6:39 left in the game. Maycee Kinlaw fired in an insurance goal that ricocheted off a Clarkton defender 2 minutes later.
Sinya Martin recorded the shutout in goal for the Lady Bulldogs. “Our back defense and midfielders played amazingly to help with the shutout,” said Bladenboro Coach Mike Dove.
Bladenboro will travel to Nakina Thursday, and Clarkton School of Discovery will visit Tabor City.
