ELIZABETHTOWN – The Clarkton School of Discovery Lady Blue Devils clinched the Waccamaw Middle School Conference A Division girls’ soccer championship with a 7-0 victory over Acme-Delco on Thursday at Bladen County Park.
Molly Evans fired in a trio of goals to finish with a ‘Hat Trick’ and lead the Lady Blue Devils. A Reese Hester assist led to Evans first goal that came in the second minute of play.
Two minutes later Evans banged in an unassisted goal to pad the lead to 2-0 in the 4th minute. Evans returned the favor to Hester in the 7th minute with an assist that resulted in a Hester goal.
Ten minutes later Addie Bowen knocked in a goal off of an assist from ShaNidra Richardson. Reagan Moore closed out the first half scoring with a goal that pushed the Lady Blue Devil lead to 5-0.
Traveyuana Gaskins opened the second half scoring with another Clarkton goal. Evans completed her ‘Hat Trick’ with a third goal off of an assist from Rylee Garrison.
Kenzi Storms and Hester split time in goal and recorded the shutout for the Lady Blue Devils. Storms worked the first half minding the net, and Hester was in goal in the second half.
Coach Jordan Raynor’s Lady Blue Devils finished the season with a 7-1 record.
