ELIZABETHTOWN – Molly Evans and Sophia Masaid recorded ‘Hat Tricks’ of 3 goals each Thursday to lead Clarkton School of Discovery to a 7-0 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls soccer victory over Bladenboro.
Evans knocked in an unassisted goal in the fourth minute, and Masaid tacked on unassisted goals in the 16th and 18th minutes to give the Lady Blue Devils a 3-0 halftime lead.
Evans fired in the first goal of the second half, and two minutes later Mauri Flores drilled in a goal for a 5-0 lead. Masaid connected for her third goal to boost the margin to 6-0.
Evans turned a feed from Masaid into her third goal and completed the Clarkton scoring.
“Two Hat Tricks!” said Lady Blue Devil Coach Jordan Raynor. “That’s the Clarkton team I know!”
Clarkton improved to 3-0-1 on the season. Bladenboro is now 2-2.
