TABOR CITY – Allison Hickman fired a 1-hitter and struck out 8 batters as unbeaten Bladenboro rolled to a 23-0 Waccamaw Middle School Conference softball victory over Tabor City Wednesday.

The Lady Bulldogs pounded out 10 hits and capitalized on 14 walks, 2 hit batters and 6 Tabor City errors to pile up their 23 runs in just 3 innings.

Abbie Hickman sparked the Lady Bulldog attack with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate and scored 2 runs. Teammate Karlee Gause blasted a 2-run triple, was 2-for-4 at the plate and scored a run. Natalee Sykes doubled, walked twice and scored twice.

Addison Wilcox crushed a 3-run home run to right-center field, batted 2-for-3, walked and scored 4 runs for the winners. Lead-off batter Ashley Rivon walked twice, was hit by pitches twice and scored 4 runs. Jaylen Clark walked twice and scored a run.

Catcher Leea Wilkins smashed a single, walked twice and scored 3 times. At the plate Allison Hickman laced a single, walked twice and scored 3 runs. Kali Allen walked and scored twice. Morgan Moore walked and scored a run, and Makenna Thurman drew a walk.

The Lady Eagle pitcher, Quintasia, smacked a lead-off single in the 2nd inning to break up the no-hit opportunity.

Coach Otis Evans’ Lady Bulldogs improved to 5-0 in Waccamaw ‘A’ Division play and 6-0 overall. Bladenboro will visit Williams Township Monday with a chance to solidify their hold on first place in the division.
