ELIZABETHTOWN – Emereau Bladen scored 13 runs in the 1st 2 innings and went on to defeat Tar Heel 16-4 Thursday in non-conference softball action at Bladen County Park.

Mollie Sasser, Gracey Edwards, Addison Douglas, Abby Dicicco and Ryleigh Miller all reached base with hits in the Emereau 1st inning. Anna Robinson, Bristol Allen, Bella Beard and Chloe Merritt all drew walks. Robinson, Sasser, Edwards, Allen, Douglas, Dicicco, Miller and Beard all scored to put the Lady Aviators on top 8-0,

Dawn Lammons, Austyn Newell, Giselle Lara, Everlee Nance and Ashely Solis Sandoval cracked hits in the Tar Heel 2nd inning, and Lammons, Newell and Lara all scored to trim the Emereau lead to 8-3.

Edwards reached base with a hit to start the Lady Aviator 2nd inning. Bristol Allen, Douglas, Dicicco, Miller drew walks, before Merritt walloped a triple to clear the bases. Edwards, Allen, Douglas, Dicicco and Miller all scored as the Emereau lead grew to 13-3.

The Lady Aviators added 3 more runs in the 3rd inning to grow the lead to 16-3. Edwards, Sierra Thompson and Alyssa Chavis all drew walks and scored runs.

Abigail Dew blasted a solo home run in the 4th inning for Tar Heel.

Edwards batted 3-for-3 and scored twice for Emereau. Merritt slugged the triple. Allen walked 3 times and scored 3 runs. Douglas, Dicicco, Rylee White, Sasser, and Miller had 1 hit each. Douglas, Miler and Dicicco scored 2 runs each. Robinson, Sasser, Thompson, Beard and Chavis all scored 1 run each.

Nance batted 2-for-2 to lead the Tar Heel hitters. Dew slammed the home run. Newell, Lara and Lammons belted hits and scored 1 run each. Solis Sandoval and Roslyn Sanchez added 1 hit each for the Lady Panthers.
