ELIZABETHTOWN – Emereau Bladen swept Midway 3-0 Monday in middle school volleyball action by set scores of 25-8, 25-4 and 25-16.

Bristol Allen hammered in 7 service points that included 3 aces as the Lady Aviators raced to an 11-4 lead. Addison Douglas drilled in 4 aces during an 8-point service run that extended the lead to 20-6. Mollie Sasser served out the set with a pair of service points.

Julia Flowers smoked in 5 aces during a 7-point service run that propelled Emereau to a 9-1 lead in Set 2. Allen banged in a pair of aces as the lead grew to 13-2, and Bella Beard served out the set with a 10-point service run that included 3 aces.

A trio of service points from Harlie Shaw staked the Lady Aviators to an early 4-1 lead in the 3rd set. Flowers pounded in 6 service points including 2 aces as the lead grew to 11-2. Midway rallied to within 17-11 before Vera Valentiner’s 5-point service run widened the gap to 23-13.

Flowers led the Emereau servers with 13 service points that included 7 aces and had 1 kill. Allen finished with 12 service points that included 5 aces and had 3 kills.

Beard racked up 11 service points that included 3 aces and had 1 kill. Douglas tallied 8 service points that featured 4 aces. Valentiner and Shaw followed with 5 service points each. Mollie Sasser scored 2 service points.

The Lady Aviators claimed their 6th win of the season and will host Penderlea Wednesday.
