ELIZABETHTOWN – Emereau Bladen won the final 2 sets and defeated Penderlea Christian 3-1 Wednesday in middle school volleyball action by set scores of 25-9, 11-25, 25-14 and 25-17.

The Lady Aviators rode a 4-point service run from Addison Douglas and an 8-point service run from Bella Beard to a 19-4 lead in the opening set. Harlie Shaw served out the set winning 4 more service points.

After Penderlea claimed the 2nd set, Bristol Allen captured a trio of service points in Set 3 to put Emereau up 7-2, and Douglas kept the margin at 16-10 with a trio of service points. Julia Flowers fired in 5 service points for a 22-12 lead, before Allen served out the set with a pair of service points.

Penderlea grabbed the early lead in the 4th set, but Allen knocked in 5 service points to edge Emereau ahead 11-10. Beard delivered 5 service points for a 19-13 lead, and Shaw banged in 2 more service points for a 24-16 lead.

Shaw and Beard racked up 14 service points each to lead the Lady Aviators. Shaw smashed in 7 aces, and Beard totaled 4 aces. Allen finished with 12 service points and drilled in 7 aces. Flowers finished with 9 service points that included 3 aces, and Douglas followed with 5 service points that included 3 aces. Abby Dicicco, Mollie Sasser and Vera Valentiner tallied 1 service point each.

The victory was the 7th of the season for Emereau. The Lady Aviators host Harrells Christian Thursday.
