TAR HEEL – Tar Heel’s Lady Panthers dropped their 1st volleyball match of the season 2-0 to West Columbus Monday, but then battled back to outlast East Columbus 2-1 in their 2nd match.
West Columbus swept both sets 25-14 and 25-2 in the opening match, but Tar Heel rebounded to win the 1st set against East Columbus 25-9. East Columbus took the 2nd set 25-18, but the Lady Panthers claimed the 3rd and deciding set 15-11.
Tar Heel, now 1-1 in Waccamaw Middle School Conference play, will travel to Elizabethtown Thursday to play host Elizabethtown at 4 p.m. then play Whiteville Central.
