On April 7th, Nathan Dowless left his former job and became a General Manager at Down East Pest Control.
His previous position was as the Director of Bladen County Emergency Services, where he worked for four years. Dowless states, “My favorite thing about the job with the county was helping people. Most of my adult years were spent helping people. I was a volunteer firefighter since I was 16.” Dowless’ job was to direct all of the relief services in Bladen County. Dowless expressed that this was for extreme weather, forest fires, landslides, sinkholes, etc.
Dowless’ brother, Jeremy Dowless, owns Down East Pest Control. Dowless said, “My brother called me and said, ‘We need your help,’ and I said, ‘I’m on the way.'” Jeremy Dowless started the company in 2005. As the pest control company grew, so did its need for a general manager.
With Dowless going to a new job, he has to learn different things. Dowless said, “What’s new to me for this job is learning all the new material and how things run here, but I assure you that the whole company will be the best in helping the customer.”
