The NC Department of Transportation has issued an updated listing of road closings and openings in Bladen County.
OPENINGS:
Richardson Road
Richardson Road will open today if NC DOT can get asphalt. The road is passable for emergency response purposes.
CLOSINGS:
Tobermory Road
Tobermory Road remains closed at NC 87 due to a failed crossline pipe / void under the road. Pipe replacement work started this morning and should be complete next week.
US 701 North
US 701 north remains closed at Colly Creek in order to perform a scour repair to the box culverts that were damaged during Hurricane Matthew. The location is just south of Mote Road. While local traffic will be able to use Mote Road and NC 41 for access around the work site, the official detour route will be NC 41 and NC 210 in order to keep through trucks on routes with wider lane widths. Work should be complete by the end of the month.
UPCOMING CLOSINGS:
Singletary Mill Pond Road
Beginning Tuesday, July 25, we plan to close Singletary Mill Pond Road at a location 0.54 miles west of NC 131 in order to replace double crossline pipes damaged during Matthew. The road will be closed through early next week.
ELWELL FERRY:
The Elwell Ferry is operating.
