Full STEAM Ahead is a new program on the campus of Bladen Community College developed to provide access and hands on exposure to science, technology, engineering, arts, and math by engaging families and inspiring students to pursue career opportunities in Career and Technical Education (CTE) fields. The vision of the new program is for all students to have family and community support needed to access and pursue STEAM opportunities and CTE training available at Bladen Community College.
Full STEAM Ahead is built on a collaboration between Bladen Community College and Bladen County Schools, in hopes of introducing CTE programs to 5 th – 8 th grade students so that they can become familiar with different CTE paths available prior to registration for their middle and high school courses. The collaboration's goal is to foster a passion for science, technology, engineering, arts and math thorough fun activities and involvement of families by experiencing the activities together.
In the month of October, Full STEAM Ahead will focus on agriculture. The special event is October 26 from 6pm until 8pm in Building #6 at Bladen Community College. Parents should be prepared to engage in the learning activities with the student as they learn together about the exciting opportunities in agriculture!
