WHITEVILLE — The team of Rudy Pait and Richard Tikkala combined to shoot 12-under 60 Saturday to win the Super Bowl Shootout tournament at Land ‘O Lakes Golf Club.

The duo edged the team of Marcus Rising and Landon Rising by a stroke in the Texas Scramble format.

In the first flight, the team of Tim Nobles and James Hammond won with an even par 72, which was a stroke better than the team of Matt Gore and Dawson Heath.

Closest to the pin winners were Pait on No. 9 and Linwood Hedgepeth on No. 18.
