ELIZABETHTOWN – Tyler McFadden hammered a double to right-center field that scored Lyric Lawson with the winning run as the Cubs claimed the Elizabethtown Dixie Youth Baseball Majors regular season championship with a 3-2 walk-off victory over the Braves Monday night.

The 2 teams had completed the season with identical 11-2 records, and Monday’s game was a playoff game to decide the title. With the score tied 2-2, Lawson beat out an infield hit and advanced on an error before McFadden connected for the game-winning hit.

Noah Ray drilled an inside-the-park home run down the right field line to stake the Braves to an early 1-0 lead.

Colt Lewis walked in the Cubs half of the 1st and raced home when his brother, Gunner Lewis, smashed a double to right-center field.

The Braves went back up 2-1 in the top of the 2nd. Grayson Leggett and Cooper Sasser drew walks, and Leggett scored on a throwing error.

Gunner Lewis walloped a triple to left-center field in the Cubs 4th inning and scored the tying run on a wild pitch.

Noah Ray pitched a 4-hitter and struck out 11 batters for the Braves. Ray also slugged the home run and batted 2-for-2 to lead the Braves hitters.

Gunner Lewis finished 2-for-2 at the plate with an RBI double and a triple for the Cubs. McFadden had the RBI double, and Lawson added a single. Gunner Lewis started on the mound and struck out 3 batters. Stryker Pait pitched 3.2 innings of scoreless 1-hit relief and struck out 7 batters to pick up the win.
