FAYETTEVILLE – A portion of Shaw Mill Road in northern Fayetteville will close in both directions starting Wednesday, Feb. 21, to allow contract crews to replace a drainage pipe under the pavement.
The closure will occur between Meharry Drive and Ridge Road. Motorists on the west side of the closure should take Rosehill Road to Country Club Drive to Murchison Road and back to Shaw Mill Road. Travelers on the other side should follow the detour route in reverse.
The road is expected to reopen by late April.
Jymco Construction of Smithfield is doing the work for the N.C. Department of Transportation for a $344,550 contract.
