A public hearing is scheduled for tonight (Monday, October 15th) regarding a Community Transportation Program application.  The public hearing will take place during the Bladen County Board of Commissioners meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the basement of the Bladen Courthouse in Elizabethtown.

Also, the Board of commissioners is expected to approve a consent agenda which consists of the following items:

the Proposed Agenda, minutes of the October 1, 2018 Regular Meeting, budget amendments, County Attorney Invoices totaling $3,275, Tax Releases No. 9-18, a Solid Waste Disposal Agreement with Sampson County Disposal, Inc., a service agreement with Mobile Communications America in the amount of $50,331.96, Homeland Security Grant Program Notification (Grant #EMW-2018-SS-00053) in the Amount of $22,000 for the purchase of a Regional Rehab Trailer, Homeland Security Grant Program Notification (Grant # EMW-2018-SS-00053) in the Amount of $8,345 for the purchase of Night Vision Goggles J. Amendment Number 01-2019 in the Amount of $52,688.08 to Contract with NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services-Division of Soil and Water Conservation, Fireworks Display at Camp Clearwater on Saturday, October 27, 2018, or an undetermined rain date in Accordance with NCGS 14:410-413, North Carolina Division of Emergency Management Disaster Assistance Agreement regarding Hurricane Florence, and a resolution designating applicant’s agent regarding NC Division of Emergency Management Disaster Assistance Agreement.

The board will also be asked to approve a grant application for the Community Transportation Program.

The Commissioners are scheduled to recognize county employees for their years of service followed by a reception.

Following the reception the board will will presentations from the Golden Leaf Foundation President Dan Gerlach and from Holland Consulting Planners’ Jessie Miars. The Commissioners will also be requested to consider awarding a contract for professional services for Hurricane Matthew HMGP, DRA 2017 and HM DRA-2017 projects.

Kelly Robeson, Director of the Bladen County Division on Aging will update the Commissioners regarding the NC Family Caregiver Support program and the board will be asked to consider a contract for services with the Lumber River Area Agency on Aging and approving the Division on Aging Advisory Committee Revised By-laws.

The Commissioners will receive an updated from Bladen County Tax Administrator Renee Davis regarding the NC Department of Revenue Site Visit and remedies to enforce collections and the board will be asked to consider declining a bid for county owned property located on US 701 North of Elizabethtown.

General Services Director Kip McClarey will give an update regarding the Solid Waste Transportation Services. The Commissioners will be asked to consider allowing Chairman Ray Britt to execute a contract with Hilco Transport for Solid Waste Transportation Services pending legal review and approval.

Bladen County finance Director Lisa Coleman will present the monthly financial dashboard.

The board will consider making appointments to the Child Fatality Protection Team, East Arcadia Fire Service District Committee, EMS Advisory Council, Keep Bladen Beautiful, Watershed Review Board, and the White Lake Planning and Zoning (ETJ).

Bladen County Manager Greg Martin will present the 2018-19 Charitable funding requests and the calendar update.

The board is scheduled to meet  in closed session to discuss personnel matters.
