Bladenboro, North Carolina – On Thursday, September 7th, Bladenboro, North Carolina, hosted Clay Rice, the celebrated silhouette artist and award-winning children’s author. The event started at Bridger Memorial Library. Following the book readings at the library, Rice paid a visit to Market on Main. Attendees had the chance to meet Rice, engage in an interactive book reading session, and get their silhouettes made by the famous artist.
Known for his captivating silhouette portrait art and heartwarming children’s stories, Rice hails from Charleston, South Carolina. After Rice captured the audience’s attention with the silhouette skills he learned from his grandfather, he read three of his five books to the children in attendance.
Susan Guyton with the library said, “He did a good job holding their attention while he read the three books.”

He read the first three books to the Bladenboro audience. The event at Bridger Memorial Library provided an exciting and educational experience for attendees of all ages. The subsequent visit to Market on Main allowed attendees to take advantage of Rice’s artistic skills and have their silhouettes created by the master.
