On Friday afternoon, May 1, the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 224 Timber Haven Drive off of Cromartie Road outside of Elizabethtown.

During the search, approximately 23 grams of heroin, eight (8) grams of powder cocaine, four (4) grams of crack cocaine, nine-point five(9.5) grams of methamphetamine, $755.00 in U. S. currency, and a 9 mm firearm was discovered at the residence and on persons at the residence, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Four people were arrested during the search, and a fifth person is still at large. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the charges are as follows:

-Benjamin Allen Bailey, who is 18 years old, of Wagon Wheel Drive, in Elizabethtown, was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He is under a $10,500 secure bond.

-Samuel Lance Dowless, 26 years old, of Twisted Hickory Road, in Elizabethtown was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Vehicle to Sell a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Dowless is under a $35,000 secured bond.

-Joseph Reed Black, 30 years of age, of Carolina Avenue in White Lake, was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He is under a $10,500 secured bond.

-Clifton Bruce Martin, 55 years of age of Moultrie Lane in Elizabethtown, was arrested and charged with Manufacture Schedule I, Felony Possession, one (1) count of Schedule II, Maintaining a Vehicle for the Purpose of Selling a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Martin’s bond was set at $40,500 secured.

-Terrell McDowell, 42 years old, of Jones Street in Elizabethtown, has outstanding warrants for Possession With Intent to Sell and Deliver Heroin, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Trafficking in Heroin, Conspiracy to Sell and Deliver.

“We are very pleased with the job that our Narcotics Unit is doing and the impact they are having on our community,” said Sheriff Jim McVicker.
