1. Here’s something you really need to know. National Grandparents Day is Sunday. It’s been celebrated in the U.S. since 1978 and, if you’re fortunate to have a grandparent in your life, it better be celebrated Sunday.
2. Who says there’s nothing to do in Bladen County? Saturday, Sept. 12 is Fun Day in Bladenboro at the Historical Building, then the Dublin Peanut Festival is Sept. 19 at Dublin Primary, followed Sept. 26-27 with the reenactment of the Battle of Elizabethtown at Tory Hole Park. Get out there and enjoy.
3. A couple of others events on the Saturday, Sept. 12 calendar is the Dublin Peanut Festival Scholarship Pageant at 7 p.m. at Dublin Primary, and racing returns to Dublin Motor Speedway after a Saturday night off for the Labor Day weekend.
