Update Monday, April 12, 2021 – The autopsy’s of the two victims located off of Cribb Road near Elizabethtown on Thursday have been completed and the victims have been identified as follows:

Sean Patrick Burke, 51, 527 Cribb Road, Clarkton.  The cause of death has been determined to be blunt force trauma.
Robbie Hildreth, 58, 527 Cribb Road, Clarkton.  The cause of death has not been determined on Hildreth at this time.

The investigation is continuing into this matter.  Foul play is suspected and anyone with information is asked to contact the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office at (910) 862-6960.

Two people were found dead Thursday afternoon during a welfare check at 527 Cribb Road off US 701 south of Elizabethtown, according to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office.

The names of the deceased were not released by the Sheriff’s Office.

Foul play is suspected in the deaths, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office. An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Raleigh to determine a cause of death and identify the bodies, the Sheriff’s Office said.

An investigation is underway in an effort to determine the cause of death of the two people.
