FUQUAY-VARINA –The Bladen County All-Stars shutout Nash County 3-0 in their 1st game Saturday afternoon then dropped their 2nd game 6-1 to SGAA in the State-Wide Activities Committee (SWAC) 14-and-Under Boys Soccer state tournament.
Levi Velasco Garcia fired in 2 goals and assisted on the other one to lead the Bladen County offense in the win. Garcia knocked in the 1st goal off of an assist from Alex then sent a pass to Damian Sanchez, who banged in the 2nd Bladen goal. Garcia raced to the box and drilled in an unassisted goal to push the lead to 3-0. Dylan Cruz Hernandez recorded the shutout in goal for Bladen County.
In Bladen County’s 2nd game, Garcia found the back of the net with a goal off of an assist from Ishaq Algozy.
Bladen County, now 2-1 in the tournament, needs a win Sunday at 9 a.m. over the RMPR Hot Shots to advance to Sunday’s championship game that is slated for 12:30 p.m.
