ROCKY MOUNT – The Bladen County 14-and-Under Girls All-Stars were defeated 3-1 by Nash County Sunday in a semifinal game and were eliminated from the Statewide Activities Committee (SWAC) State Tournament.
Nash County scored in the 10th minute then netted another goal 10 minutes later. Racquel Whittington fired in a Bladen goal off of an assist from Julia Flowers to trim the margin to 2-1 at halftime. Nash tacked on an insurance goal midway the 2nd half.
Members of the Bladen 14U Girls All-Stars are: Oasis Labra, Lluvia Sanchez, Julia Flowers, Abigail Ventura, Caroline Musselwhite, Isabella Beard, Rut Velasco Garcia, Chloe Merritt, Avianna Whittington, Brookelynn Sullivan, Savannah Ownbey, Jaidyn Taylor, Maylin McMichael, Rylie Dowless and Racquel Whittington. They are coached by Dom Whittington.
