FUQUAY-VARINA- Bladen County posted a pair of wins Saturday in the opening round of the StateWide Activities Committee 14U Soccer State Tournament.
In their opening game Saturday morning, Bladen County blanked Fuquay-Varina 3-0 as Christopher Labra fired in a pair of goals. The other Bladen goal was an own goal knocked into the net by Fuquay-Varina.
Kevyn delacruz Labra lit up the scoreboard with his 2nd ‘Hat Trick’ plus one of 4 goals in 2 days as Bladen County rolled to a 6-0 victory over South Granville in their 2nd game Saturday.
Alejandro Lopez drilled in the other 2 goals in the Bladen win. Goalie Cade Allen recorded shutouts in both games for Bladen County.
Bladen County now has a 2-1 record in the tournament but has to defeat Holly Springs at 10:45 Sunday morning to advance to the 14U championship game.
