FUQUAY-VARINA- Levi Velazquez poured in 10 goals in 2 games Saturday as Bladen County claimed wins over Fuquay-Varina and Princeton in the StateWide Activities Committee 10U Boys Soccer State Tournament.
In Bladen’s 1st game Saturday, Velazquez racked up a ‘Hat Trick’ plus two of 5 goals in Bladen County’s 6-3 win over Fuquay-Varina. Miguel Ventura fired in the other Bladen goal in the opening win.
Velazquez blistered the nets with another 5 goals in Bladen’s 6-1 victory over South Granville. Ventura tacked on another goal for the winners in the 2nd game. In Bladen’s 3 games in the tournament Velazquez has posted a trio of ‘Hat Tricks’ and has totaled 14 goals.
Keithan Russ has manned the goal in all 3 of Bladen County’s victories.
Bladen County completed pool play with a perfect 3-0 record and will play Holly Springs in a semi-final game at 10 a.m. Sunday. Another win would put Bladen in the 10U Boys state championship game at 2 p.m. Sunday.
