FOUR OAKS –Bladen County pounded out 15 hits and defeated JCAA South 11-5 Tuesday night in the Tar Heel Leagues District 5 10U Softball Tournament.

Bladen County will play JCAA East Wednesday at 6 p.m. If Bladen wins, they will have to play another game at 7:45.

Kenadie Pusey was hit by a pitch to start the game, and Jeniyah Whittington smacked a single. Racquel Whittington slammed a double, and Adison Overgaard and India Storms belted singles. Pusey, Jeniyah Whittington, Racquel Whittington, and Overgaard all scored.

JCAA South trimmed the lead to 4-3, before Bladen added 2 runs in the 2nd inning. Rylee White and Alaina Wilkins cracked singles and scored runs to pad the lead to 6-3.

Jeniyah Whittington, Racquel Whittington, Jamison Raynor and Aubree Smith smashed singles, and Khloe Campbell hammered a double as Bladen scored 3 more runs in the 3rd to up the count to 9-3. Jeniyah Whittington, Racquel Whittington and Campbell scored the runs.

Bladen added 2 more runs in the 5th. Jeniyah Whittington walloped a double, and Overgaard and Raynor laced singles. Jeniyah Whittington and Overgaard scored to push the lead to 11-4.

Jeniyah Whittington batted 3-for-3 with a double and 3 runs scored to lead the Bladen hitters. Wilkins finished 2-for-2 at the plate with a run scored. Racquel Whittington batted 2-for-3 with a double and 2 runs scored. Overgaard finished 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored. Raynor batted 2-for-3. Campbell doubled and Storms, White and Smith slapped singles. Pusey, Campbell and White scored runs.

Pusey started and pitched 2 innings for Bladen. Jeniyah Whittington pitched the next 2 innings. Campbell worked 0.2 innings of relief and Racquel Whittington relieved and recorded the final out.
