Spread the love

Change is in the air at the Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, as Terri Dennison, the dedicated Director of Communications and Marketing for the Town of Elizabethtown, shares exciting news with the community. After four years of remarkable accomplishments with the Chamber, Terri is moving to a new office, and the Chamber has a new staff manager.

Reminiscing on her journey in Bladen County, Terri expressed her admiration for the progress made during her tenure and the resilience of the Elizabethtown-White Lake community. Notably, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chamber saw increased membership, local businesses supporting each other, and promoting the region.

One of the Chamber’s standout achievements under Terri’s leadership has been the establishment of a tourism brand called “Mother Nature’s Playground.” This branding initiative has set the stage for the Elizabethtown-White Lake Area to become a year-round destination, showcasing the region’s natural beauty and recreational opportunities.

A key factor behind the Chamber’s continued success has been its dedicated Board, which has diligently pursued the priorities outlined in the 2021-2024 Strategic Plan. Terri emphasized the strength of the Chamber Board, applauding their efforts in advancing the organization’s mission.

Terri revealed her forthcoming transition in a heartfelt announcement through the Chamber’s newsletter. She emphasized that while she will be packing up her desk at the Chamber, she is not leaving the community she has grown to love. Her role as the Director of Communications and Marketing with the Town of Elizabethtown has evolved to focus on enhancing public engagement, developing strategic messaging, and improving information sharing. These new responsibilities require her full attention, leaving her with insufficient time to manage the Chamber directly.

Terri will continue to serve as an advisor to the Chamber Board and will continue her role on the Chamber’s Tourism Promotion Committee. Her new office will be located at the Public Works office in Elizabethtown, where she plans to intensify her efforts in marketing, communication, and community engagement, working closely with the County of Bladen.

Terri’s new role will focus on the Cape Fear Farmer’s Market. This cherished community asset is vital in promoting local agriculture, community engagement, and small businesses. Her commitment to this endeavor reflects her dedication to supporting the growth and prosperity of the Elizabethtown area.

To ensure a seamless transition at the Chamber, Amy Hudson has been appointed as the part-time manager of the Chamber of Commerce. Amy brings a wealth of experience in small business and customer service to her new role. Community members are encouraged to visit the Chamber Office at 207 East Broad St., Elizabethtown, and get to know Amy. You can reach her at the new Chamber email address: amy@elizabethtownwhitelake.com.

Terri’s parting words emphasize the exciting developments occurring in Elizabethtown and Bladen County. She stressed the importance of sharing the community’s success stories and working collaboratively to ensure continued growth and prosperity. With Terri’s guidance and Amy’s enthusiasm, the Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will continue to build on its achievements and lead the way in showcasing the area’s potential for years to come.
