Woke early this morning with more negative thoughts than usual…..Normally work hard to be positive….
Thought about volunteerism…and how few participants there are….Civic clubs, churches, fund raisers for a good cause…
Remember the Jaycees….a good organization for young men and women, Lions Club, Optimist, Rotary, Optimist, Kiwanis, Ruritans, some no longer active in the area….a few doing well, but many suffering from whatever…
And how about churches….Many struggle with less attendance, fewer children in Sunday School….Mom and dad both work and many struggle to make ends meet….and some show up if it is convenient…Not much commitment on the part of far too many.
We have seen a lot of changes over the years….More guns and drugs…..less preparation for work (career) in the real world…and volunteering.
I hear what is being said, but what I see is more telling…
