Lots happening as Christmas time approaches, the weather has been great, but un-December like.
Still no takers for candidates for local political offices. No one seems to care….Deadline for filing is noontime Monday, December 21. NO ONE FILED YESTERDAY.
Holiday basketball tournaments are planned for East and West Bladen. At West Bladen, a three day boys tournament (Woodmen Life) is set for Monday through Wednesday, December 21-23. Both Bladen County teams will be involved.
At East Bladen a ladies tournament on Monday and Tuesday, December 21 & 22.
Congratulations to all the high school athletes named to fall All-Conference teams. And, a BladenOnline salute to Lacey Suggs, East Bladen senior, and West Bladen Junior Alanna Ludlum, both were named Player of the Year. Suggs in Volleyball and Ludlum in Tennis.

WODR-105.3, Whiteville radio station’s new owners took over at 3 p.m. yesterday. At 2:55, KC Evers was playing oldies and about 3:05 p.m., the staff had been dismissed and the new owners from Augusta, Ga. switched to a gospel format. A huge change, we wish all well.
Santa Claus is coming to town in about 8 days. Hope you are making progress with your Christmas shopping.
