Thoughts While Shaving The White Lake Water Festival, 2017 edition, is today. See the line-up of events, beginning with the Annual Parade, at 10 AM, on our news page. Fun for all ages, all day long.

Organizers are to be commended…Elizabethtown-White Lake Chamber of Commerce and volunteers doing their thing to mark the beginning of the White Lake summer season.

Do we have to speak bad things about those who disagree on any subject? Can we respect their thoughts and agree to disagree?

Hope you read the article from the Sheriff’s Office related to the murder of a migrant laborer Friday night. Don’t know all the details, but best I can tell a group of migrant workers moved into the county to pick blueberries and they were confronted by a group who attempted to rob them. When they (migrant workers) resisted the sorry, most likely local druggies, shot and killed one. Too lazy and sorry to work, farmers have to look south for folks who will work and they are assaulted. Ship the locals to Mexico and build a wall high enough to keep them there, forever. We should have volunteers lining up, wanting to serve on that jury.

Moving on,

The Freedom Quartet of Sevierville, TN will be singing at Northside Baptist Church Sunday beginning at 7 PM. Burman Porter, Bladenboro native, sings bass with the group. Porter and tenor John Rulapaugh have been together for many years, with the Dove Brothers Band and the Palmetto State QT. They are joined by Dale Shipley (lead) and Scott Mullins (baritone).
