Monday began as a rainy cold day and eventually became a beautiful day with lots of sunshine. At the Hester household, we received slightly less than a quarter of an inch of rain.
Looking forward to the Pork and Beats Festival, first ever scheduled for Saturday, November 18 from 10 AM to 8 PM at Cape Fear Farmers Market, in E-town.
East Bladen High School football season continues Friday evening. The Eagles next opponent will be Greene Central. Gametime, 7:30 PM. It’s a home game for East Bladen. Another great season for Coach Robby Priests’ team.
White Lake Fire Department is having a Thanksgiving fundraiser. Fried turkey, baked turkey or Boston Butt, cooked and ready to be served for just $30. Call 910-874-0726 for details.

FYI, 75 to 100 new jobs in Bladenboro, more coming to Smithfield at Tar Heel, and hopefully another announcement coming soon, if all goes as planned. Hard work pays off. Chuck Heustess and his staff of 3 are paying big dividends.
November 14….79 years ago, my mom gave birth to the first of 6 youngsters. Most, maybe all, were delivered at home (Dr. Dewey Bridger). I weighed 14 pounds, all weighed over 10 pounds. Losing weight has been one of my goals since birth. All Ms. Myrtle’s children are alive and appear to be in reasonably good health. We are blessed!
