Thoughts While ShavingA salute to Bladen County Beta Club members and their sponsors who recently attended the Junior Beta Club Convention in Greensboro.  A great week for a wonderful group of youngsters and leaders.  Some are making plans to attend the National Conference in Savannah, Ga. in June.  Bladen’s future leaders are ‘stepping up’.

One East Bladen grad has had a minor setback in his baseball career at Brunswick Community College.  Kyle Tatum recently suffered a baseball injury when playing in a practice game.  He was struck in the cheek by a fast ball, suffering a shattered bone, but is hopeful of playing soon.  BCC ’18 baseball season begins Saturday.  Tatum is a sophomore and enjoyed much success at East Bladen in several sports and at Brunswick CC last spring.

Another nice article Doug Henderson in Greensboro News and Record Wednesday.  The former East Bladen teacher/coach died Sunday.

Have you seen a pic of the ‘new’ Gerber baby?  18-month old Lucas Warren from Dalton, Georgia is the first child with Down Syndrome to be Gerber’s ‘Spokesbaby of the Year’.  He has a contagious, unforgettable smile.

Stock market still very much ‘unsettled”, causing heartburn for retirees that depend on 401K’s or other type savings accounts for financial support.
