NFL action last night … Baltimore Ravens 42 – New York Jets 21

Have been on the sidelines for a few hours, following cataract surgery. Can’t think of anything more difficult to deal with than being blind. So, I was out of action yesterday … one down … one to go, in early January.

Filing for public office in Bladen County is at a standstill. Time to step up if you think you have what it takes to serve. Take your pick … County Commissioners, Board of Education and numerous state and national level. Filing deadline is a week from today. … Details at the local Board of Elections, located behind the Elizabethtown Post Office.

Cold outside and winter has not arrived, but on the way. Winter begins Saturday, December 21, 2019.

Forecast for today … Rain, mainly after 10 a.m. High near 52. Northeast wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch. 80% chance of rain tonight with precipitation amounts of a half to three quarters of an inch possible.

Clearing Saturday afternoon … mostly sunny with a high in the low 60s and winds in the 12 to 14 mph range with gusts as high as 22 mph. A good time to be inside … playing checkers or Monopoly or getting info together for tax time. Does anyone play checkers or Monopoly any more?

More good news … penalty added to property taxes first few days of January … noooooo complaining, remember they were due in September.

Christmas shopping complete????? Shop at home if possible.

The best way to get a puppy for Christmas is to beg for a little brother.

Why is Christmas just like a day at the office? You do all the work and the fat guy with the suit gets all the credit.

STRESSED is just DESSERTS spelled backward.
