thoughts while shavingLest we forget, today is Thursday, February 29th … Leap Year.

Interesting day yesterday, weatherwise … High temp was in the upper 70s … rainfall before midnight last night was just over a third of an inch … with a strong wind most of the day … Several times wind gusts topped 30 miles per hour, mostly in the early afternoon.

Forecast for today (Thursday) mostly sunny with a high near 56, windy, gusts as high as 18 mph. Mostly cloudy tonight, low around 38.

Friday, a chance of precipitation after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy with a high near 63, wind gusts as high as 17 mph and a 50% chance of rain … Looking ahead, rain and wind subsides beginning Sunday … Partly sunny with highs in the low 70s before more rain beginning Tuesday…

Mark your calendar … Bladen We Care Annual Golf Fundraiser will be held June 20, 2024 at River Landing, near Wallace. Tee time … 9 a.m. for all. Last year’s event was the most successful ever, 72 teams, around 300 golfers … Funds go to local individuals dealing with various health issues, to support nursing scholarships at Bladen Community College and UNC-Pembroke … and other such causes … All volunteer organization…

Interesting note … with politics center stage … Sen. McConnell (KY) announced he will be stepping down as Senate leader later this year. He has held the position for 17 years. New leader will be selected by Senate Republicans…
