Bladen County Schools announced Wednesday in a statement on Facebook that the Bladen County Middle School Basketball Tournament has been postponed. Championship games had been scheduled for Thursday.

School officials will hold a meeting Monday afternoon to discuss the tournament. There was an incident Tuesday where a game was stopped due to a confrontation on the court. Tuesday’s other 3 games were completed.

The statement from Bladen County Schools reads: “After careful consideration and keeping our priority on the safety of our students and staff, at this time we have made the decision to postpone the middle school basketball tournament.

“We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.”
