A little of this and that … Was surprised when I traveled uptown ’round noontime Tuesday, discovered it was ‘cold outside’, like 38 to 40 degrees, later in pm, temps begin to rise. Temp at 5:30 a.m. today at the local airport was 47 degrees. Check weather early this a.m. and discovered over an inch of rain had been reported at that time, actually, closer to 1 1/2 inches…

Next 48 hours, guess unstable would be the best description of the weather…

Forecast for today, not bad … Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67 … Tonight, a slight chance of showers after 1 a.m., with a low around 55 and a 20% chance of rain. Thursday, a chance of showers, then showers and possibly thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Some of the storms could be severe. High near 79. South wind 5 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. … 80% chance or rain.

Thursday night, showers and thunderstorms between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. Some of the storms could be severe. Low around 54. South wind 8 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph and 80% chance of rain … Looking ahead … improving weather … high temps Friday near 63, low Friday night around 35 degrees.

I keep hearing folks receiving stimulus funds from Uncle Sam…

Understand a contract has been awarded for demolition of one section of downtown Bladenboro, first step in re-vitalizing the area … Exciting news…

Elizabethtown Industrial Park is undergoing some updates … clearing undergrowth for new efforts … and work continues on the bridge over Cape Fear River … will take some time to complete that project … and construction continues on NC 242 between Elizabethtown and Bladenboro, hopefully re-paving later … All progress…

River is high, as you would expect … Farmers breaking land … and more old pictures of White Lake on Facebook … Bladen County is a good place to live, work and raise a family…

Life is about using the whole box of crayons…

Life is like a roller coaster. It has its ups and downs. But it’s your choice to scream or enjoy the ride.

If your dreams don’t scare you they’re not big enough.

In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take.
