Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

Thoughts While ShavingSeveral members of the Cain and Hester families, attended graduation ceremonies at UNC Saturday where our granddaughter was a participant.  I was attempting to take a picture with my phone when a lady seated next to me, seeing and listening to me, no doubt knew I was having limited success, said her friend was taking pictures and she would have her take some of our granddaughter if I would give her my email address.  This morning, I received several really neat, clear photos…..further examination indicates they came from Fairmont.

One of those receiving his degree was Brice Johnson of UNC basketball fame.  At 6’10 he stood head and shoulders above most.

Think most mothers felt a lot of love yesterday, and rightfully so.

In our area, the new corn crop looks good. Last year, many peanut and cotton fields were too wet to harvest.  Farmers are hopeful of a good crop.

I think back to my years in public schools. When the warm weather of May arrived, I could only think of the number of days remaining in the school year.

As the 2016 race for president continues to unfold, think many folks are still uneasy about the future.

We are nearing the end of our youth baseball teams from 1977, courtesy of the Southeastern Times.  Hopefully, we will not duplicate, but in all fairness, I did not date some of the early articles…

Today our featured team is the Elizabethtown Giants.  Team members included: Jeff Tyler, Wendell Newton, Terry Johnson, Rodney Mabe, Waddell Newton, Jeff Allen, Tony Gonda, Mike Nunnery, Ronald Lesane, Charles Allen, Raymond Smith, Tim O’Briant and David Guions.  Coaches were Elmer Tessenear and Tom Gonda.

January is like the Monday of the months.

I am going to stop putting things off, starting tomorrow.

Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.
