One of the official events of Labor Day is the Southern 500 race in Darlington, S.C. Top 5 finishers from yesterday’s race were … Erik Jones, winner … followed by Denny Hamlin, Tyler Reddick, Joey Logano and Christopher Bell, in that order … The Southern 500 draws a huge crowd … and has for years.

Traffic on 1-95 was at a standstill for hours last evening … A huge mess just north of Benson … took hours to reopen … included was an 18-wheeler that reportedly burned…

Labor Day holiday in Elizabethtown includes a huge Sidewalk Sale … Yes, it continues today.

All Bladen County convenience sites open today … Transfer station is closed. Everything will be back to normal tomorrow.

Bladen County Commissioners meeting pushed back 24 hours … set for Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. at the courthouse.
