Thoughts While ShavingTo our north and west, many folks are still waiting for electric power to be restored.  Very few outages in Bladen, if any.  I kept checking outage websites for Duke Power and Four County and think I saw only one report of an outage.

How about the Carolina Panthers?  They will be Santa Clara, California bound in less than 2 weeks for the 50th Super Bowl.  They will play the Denver Broncos.

Would be nice to see the stock market continue the rebound from Thursday and Friday, following a disastrous beginning for 2016.

Check our Events section for meetings in the area….including a meeting open to the public sponsored by the Small Business Center of BCC, Tuesday evening at the Bladen County Library.  It is designed for small business owners and non-profits and it’s free.

A couple of other meetings that may be of interest.  A PBS video at Jones Lake State Park showcasing the natural treasures of North Carolina State Parks as they celebrate the 100th birthday of the parks.  It begins at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.  Call 588-4550 for details.  Another free event.

One more, Agriculture and Forest landowners are invited to a meeting from 9:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.  It will be held at the Powell-Melvin Ag Service Center.  Need to register today.  Call 862-4591 and ask for Becky Spearman or email her at becky_spearman@ncsu.edu.

The weather is constantly changing, but for the better over the next few days.  Sunny today and 56, Mostly sunny tomorrow and 64 before more rain arrives Tuesday night and Wednesday.
