Three people from Fayetteville were killed in a collision between a car and a tractor trailer in Bladen County on Wednesday morning. Assistant Bladen County Coroner Kenneth Clark confirmed the fatal crash occurred at the intersection of US 701 and NC 210 near the Sampson -Bladen County line.

Clark said a vehicle occupied by three contract laborers who were employed with Barnhill Construction were traveling to work on Wednesday morning on NC 210. Clark said when they arrived at the intersection of NC 210 and US 701, the vehicle apparently ran the stop sign striking the side of the trailer of a poultry truck owned by Sanderson Farms.
