Here are Three Things to Know for Thursday, February 20:
1. Bladen County Schools will have a one-hour early release today because of forecasted inclement weather and a possible snow accumulation. Schools will have a two-hour delay Friday morning.
2. A Steam Exploration program is scheduled Monday at Bridger Memorial Library in Bladenboro and Tuesday at Clarkton Public Library. The programs, which start at 4 p.m., are most appropriate for ages 6 through 11.
3. Jones Lake State Park is offering a “Slippery Salamanders” program Sunday at 2 p.m. to learn about the secret, slimy and adorable salamanders. There will be live salamanders for viewing and hands-on identification. The event is free and open to the public. Information: 910-588-4550.
