Here are Three Things to Know for Thursday, October 8:
1. Food distribution, noon, today, Foundation Church, 909 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown. One 30-40 pound box of food per family in need while supplies last.
2. Early voting for the November general election begins one week from today. It starts Oct. 15 and goes through Oct. 31. Sites are the Bladen County Recreation Department in Elizabethtown, Spaulding Monroe in Bladenboro, East Arcadia Town Hall, Booker T. Washington Primary School in Clarkton, Bay Tree Fire Department in Harrells and Tar Heel Municipal Building in Tar Heel. To be eligible to vote, a person must be registered by Friday. (READ MORE)
3. A blood drive is scheduled Friday, Oct. 16 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Bladen County Hospital in Elizabethtown. Donors can enter to win a Blackstone Griddle and Charcoal Grill combo and will receive a Touchdown for Life T-shirt while supplies last.
