DUNN – West Bladen’s Chase Williams, Hezekiah Adams and Jackson Pait have all been named to the All-Southeastern Athletic Conference Boys Basketball Team. The trio led the Knights to a 24-2 record, the SAC regular season co-championship and the SAC Tournament Championship.

Chase Williams

Williams, a 6-7 forward, averaged 17.5 points, 9 rebounds, 2.2 blocked shots and 2.6 assists. The versatile big man scored 20 points or more in 11 games and reached double figures in 25 of the Knights 26 games. He also grabbed double-figure rebounds in 9 games.

Williams’ season-high of 30 points came in a 63-40 win over East Bladen and he pulled down a season-high 19 rebounds in a 50-29 win at East Bladen.

In the Bladen OffRoad Christmas Tournament, Williams averaged 23 points a game as the Knights claimed the tournament title. He was honored as the Sayaun Dent Most Valuable Player for that tournament and was recently named to NCBCA All-District First Team for District 2.

Hezekiah Adams

Adams averaged 12.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3 steals and 2.3 assists and scored in double-figures in 17 games for the Knights. The speedy junior recorded his season high with 22 points in a 75-63 victory over Lumberton in the Bladen Offroad Christmas Tournament and posted a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds in the SAC Tournament 47-33 semifinal win over Midway.

The high-flying Adams pulled down a season-high 11 rebounds in the Knights loss at Fairmont. Adams dished out a season-high 6 assists in the Bladen Offroad 62-57 championship win over North Brunswick and matched that with 6 assists in a 70-35 win over Red Springs. He also came up with a season high 6 steals in a 63-25 home win over South Columbus.

Jackson Pait

Pait contributed 11.1 points and 2.1 assists and scored in double-figures in 15 games for the Knights. Pait poured in a season-high 25 points connecting on all 7 of his 3-point shots in a 56-31 win at Midway. The sophomore guard fired in six 3-point shots and scored 20 points in the home win over East Bladen.

In the Knights win at East Bladen, Pait distributed a season-high 6 assists and came up with a season-high 6 steals in a 41-34 home win over Midway.

Regular-season co-champion Fairmont placed Landon Cummings, Issac McKellar and Josiah Billings on the All-SAC team. St. Pauls’ center Tyson Thompson and Tykeem Oxendine were the Bulldogs all-league players.

Other All-SAC team members included:

Midway – Tripp Westbrook, Kemari McNeil; Red Springs – Kaedon Porter, Makhi Arthur; Clinton -Camden Davis.

Co-Coaches of the Year for the SAC were West Bladen’s Travis Pait and Fairmont’s Montrell McNair.
