The Barton Bulldogs built an early 10-1 lead, before Lesane laced a single to right-center field that drove in Dayan Reinos and trimmed the Bulldog lead to 10-3. Lesane raced home to cut the Barton lead to 10-6 when Livan Reinos slammed a double.

Lesane smacked a single to right-center field in the 5th inning, then with Erskine trailing 11-10, the Tar Heel native hammered a double to left-center field leading off the 9th inning to become the potential tying run. Armando Becerra’s sacrifice bunt moved Lesane to 3rd base with only one out, but the next 2 batters struck out to end the game.

Erskine, now 23-19, drops into the losers bracket and will play No. 2 seed North Greenville Saturday at 11 a.m. in an elimination game.
