WILSON- Former West Bladen star Trevor Lesane’s senior season ended Saturday as top-seeded Mount Olive scored 3 runs in the 9th inning to eliminate Lesane’s Erskine team 5-3 in the Conference Carolinas Baseball Tournament.
The teams entered the 9th inning tied 2-2, but the Trojans pushed across 3 runs then held on for the win. Erskine completed their season with a 23-20 record.
Lesane played in 30 games and batted .373 with 38 hits, 20 runs scored, and 19 runs batted in. The Tar Heel native walloped 6 doubles, a triple, a home run and had 49 total bases and a slugging percentage of .480. The senior centerfielder stole 4 bases in 4 attempts.
