2nd Lt. Hali McFadgen

Hali R. McFadgen graduated from the United States Naval Academy on 26 May 2017 with a BS degree in Political Science.  She is the daughter of Air Force Colonel, Ret. Daniel and Pamela McFadgen of Woodbridge, VA and Granddaughter of Mary and Glendell Robinson of Elizabethtown, N.C.

Col. McFadgen was a 1973 graduate of East Bladen High School, Elizabethtown, NC and a 1977 graduate of N.C. A&T State University, Greensboro, NC.

Miss Hali McFadgen was also commissioned a 2nd Lt. in the United States Marine Corps on that same day. The Naval Academy is a four year multi-discipline university that prepares young adults to serve in our armed forces. While attending the Naval Academy, Hali participated in track and field and also sang with the Naval Academy Women’s’ Glee Club.

Her graduation and commissioning concluded a week of celebrations with concerts, superintendent’s reception, silent drill team performances, division award ceremonies, and a performance by the Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team. The graduation/commissioning ceremony was highlighted by a rousing speech by Vice-President Michael R. Pence.

Hali received congratulation letters from W.E Carter Jr,Vice Admiral, U.S. Navy; and Mark R. Warner, United States Senator. On Saturday,  May 27, 2017, 2nd Lt. McFadgen received over 50 guests at a recognition luncheon at the United States Marine Corps Museum in Triangle, Virginia.
