The third annual St. Patrick’s Day Fun Day fundraising event will be held Saturday at Cape Fear Vineyard and Winery in the Elizabethtown Industrial Park. Proceeds will go to United Way of Bladen County.

Saturday’s events will start with a 5k run at 9 a.m. with registration on site. Activities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. will include kids zone activities that will include Bounce Brothers Bounce Houses, face painting, 4-H crafts and activities, 4-H bake sale, and live animals on the surrounding farm. Music will be provided by Daren Wheeless and Mike Tyndall of Whiskey Rehab, Brent Underwood with sounds from the new local band 87 & Pine, and Chris Nash.

There will be a raffle that will have several prizes offered.

United Way of Bladen County supports initiatives in the community that serve families and children. Currently funded programs include Families’ First, the Foster Kids programs through Dept. of Social Services, and Bladen County 4-H Youth Development Program. All monies raised through Saturday’s fundraising effort will stay in Bladen County offering much needed financial support to these local initiatives and others.

Registrations for the 5K run will begin at 8:30 a.m. Entry fee is $20 for adults and $15 for runners under 18 years old.
