LAKE WACCAMAW – East Bladen’s Lady Eagles fought back after suffering a narrow loss in the opening set to sweep the next 3 sets and capture their first victory of the season 3-1 over East Columbus Tuesday night by set scores of 24-26, 25-20, 25-20 and 25-23.

Senior Karli Priest keyed the Lady Eagle attack racking up 23 assists and smacking in 2 aces. Senior Acee Campbell blasted in 7 kills, an ace and had 1 assist. Sophomore Miriam DeVane slammed in 7 kills and a block.

Senior AnnaGrey Heustess hammered in 6 kills, 3 aces, a block and had 2 assists for East Bladen. Senior Maegan Burney pounded in 5 kills, 2 aces and had 1 assist. Senior Trinity Cromartie drilled in 3 kills, 3 aces and had 2 assists.

Senior Cydney Campbell smashed in 2 kills and had 1 assist for the visitors, and senior Emma Turbeville knocked in 2 aces.

Coach Jordan Raynor’s Lady Eagles are now 1-3 in non-conference action and will host South Columbus Monday.
