East Bladen’s Lady Eagles dropped the first set then rallied to take the next three sets and claim their fifth straight victory 3-1 at Pender Tuesday night in Four County Conference volleyball action by set scores of 22-25, 25-14, 25-20 and 25-22.
Senior Miller Heustess posted a double-double of 17 assists and 14 service points. Heustess also contributed 3 aces, a kill and teamed with fellow senior Lacey Suggs for a double-block.
Suggs hammered in 15 kills, 8 service points and 3 aces and added 2 assists. Junior Lexie Mendell pounded in 8 kills, 8 service points and an ace.
Sophomore Hannah DeVane fired in 9 service points and 6 kills for the winners, and senior Abby Ward tallied 9 service points, an ace and a kill.
Senior Claire Campbell delivered 7 service points, 4 kills and an ace for East, and junior Anna Grace Long belted in a kill.
The five-game winning streak raises the record for Coach Jennifer Hair’s Lady Eagles to 6-4 in league play and 9-7 overall. East Bladen will entertain Heide Trask Thursday night.
