BLADENBORO – East Columbus defeated West Bladen 3-0 Tuesday night in non-conference volleyball action by set scores of 25-18, 25-20 and 25-16.
Freshman Greer Pope distributed 5 assists for West and racked up 7 service points that included 2 aces, a kill and 12 attacks. Senior Jenna McLean slammed in 4 kills, an ace, 3 other service points, 10 attacks and delivered 2 assists. Senior Kiera Lewis fired in 7 attacks and 2 aces.
Lady Knight junior Marlene Crabtree hammered in 2 aces, 6 other service points, 8 attacks and a kill. Senior Maddie Walters fired in an ace, 3 other service points, 9 attacks, a kill, a block and had 2 digs. Junior Marlie Walters smoked in 2 aces, a service point, a kill and 7 attacks. Sophomore Jaylyn Clark had 4 attacks.
Senior Trinity Meares smashed in a kill, an ace, a service point and 9 attacks for West. Junior Alina Chavez pounded in a kill, a block, 2 attacks and a service point. Junior Holland Davis finished with 2 attacks and a dig, and sophomore Emme Bryant had a dig.
West Bladen, now 2-6, will host Lakewood on September 7th.
