Kayla Thompson fired another 1-over par 73 in the LPGA and Epson Tour Qualifying Tournament, Stage 1 in Rancho Mirage, California on Tuesday.

Thompson, playing on the Mission Hills Arnold Palmer Course in the second round of the 72-hole tournament, had 11 pars, 4 birdies, 2 bogeys and a triple bogey 8 on a par 5 for a two-day total of 2-over 146. She is tied for 119th place among the field of more than 300 golfers.

Thompson’s third round Wednesday will be played on the Indian Wells Classic Course. Her tee time is 7:10 a.m. PDT (10:10 a.m. EDT) and she is paired with amateurs Sarah Edwards and Vanessa Wang.

The top 95 players at the end of the tournament will advance to Stage 2 to be played in Venice, Fla. The top 125 players and ties following Wednesday’s third round will advance to Thursday’s final round.

Thompson lives in Clarkton and graduated from West Bladen High School.
