ROCKY POINT – Heide Trask won the final 2 sets to snap a 1-1 tie and claim a 3-1 non-conference volleyball victory over West Bladen Monday night by set scores of 25-19, 16-25, 25-21 and 25-22.

West senior Keira Lewis pummeled the Trask defense with 22 attacks, 9 kills, 8 blocks, 5 service points and 1 assist. Senior Jenna McLean dished out 6 assists and drilled in 14 attacks, 10 service points, an ace, 2 kills and added 4 digs.

Senior Trinity Meares came up with 7 digs and smashed in 15 attacks, 8 service points that included an ace and 3 kills for West. Freshman Greer Pope distributed 7 assists and fired in 9 service points including 4 aces, 5 attacks, 3 kills, a block and had 2 digs. Sophomore Emme Bryant had 3 digs, and junior Alina Chavez had 3 attacks.

Lady Knight senior Maddie Walters blistered the court with 13 service points that included 3 aces, 11 attacks, 3 kills and 2 blocks. Junior Marlie Walters smacked in 8 attacks, 3 service points, 3 kills and had a dig. Junior Marlene Crabtree spiked in 3 attacks, 3 kills, an ace and had 2 digs.

The Lady Knights, now 4-7, will open Southeastern Athletic Conference play Thursday night when they host Clinton.
